Elcogen is awarded for €24.9 million grant from EU Innovation Fund to advance green hydrogen production in Europe

The €24.9 million grant will support Elcogen’s next phase in scaling up its manufacturing capacity of solid oxide electrolyser cell (“SOEC”) and solid oxide fuel cell (“SOFC”) cells and stacks in Estonia to support the energy transition and efficient production of green hydrogen.

Elcogen partners with AVL to develop cutting-edge megawatt scale solid oxide electrolyser stack modules

The partners will focus on one of the biggest challenges of the technology – to scale from small cell footprints to multi-megawatt modules. The solution will incorporate multiple Elcogen single SOEC stacks in a stack module which will enable industrial scaling of the technology.

Cornerstone laid for Elcogen’s new factory

On June 18th, the cornerstone for Elcogen’s new factory was laid in the Loovälja Industrial Park near Tallinn. The 14,000 square meter factory will significantly increase the Company’s current production capacity of solid oxide cells and stacks to meet the growing global demand for emission-free energy and green hydrogen-producing fuel cells.

Elcogen announces collaboration agreement with the Dutch Organization for Applied Scientific Research (TNO) to develop advanced SOE technology

The primary objective of the partnership is to drive innovation within important projects of common European interest, with the collective aim to accelerate the energy transition.

Elcogen’s new production facility to expand manufacturing capacity to 360 MW

Construction of the new 14000 m2 facility in Loovälja Industrial Park started at the beginning of January 2024, with operations scheduled to commence mid-2025. Developed together with Maru Ehitus AS, the facility will expand the Company’s manufacturing capacity from 10 MW to 360 MW.

The Iru power plant will supply electricity to Elcogen, a leading manufacturer of hydrogen fuel cell technology

Elcogen and Enefit Green have signed a long-term electricity sales agreement, under which a direct power connection line will be constructed between the Iru power plant and Elcogen’s manufacturing facility.

The capacity of the direct power line to be built is 10 megavolt amperes, comparable to the power consumption of some smaller communities in Estonia.

With a strategic investment from Baker Hughes, Elcogen closes its current funding round, raising overall €140m for scaling of its leading solid oxide technology for hydrogen

Combined with equity investment from Hydrogen One Capital Growth plc, HD Hyundai and Mirae, as well as projects granted from the European Commission, including an IPCEI project totaling more than €24m, and a proposed debt of €15m, Elcogen has now raised more than €140m for the continuous development and scaling of its market leading solid oxide technology, enabling affordable green hydrogen and accelerating the energy transition.
