The partners will focus on one of the biggest challenges of the technology – to scale from small cell footprints to multi-megawatt modules. The solution will incorporate multiple Elcogen single SOEC stacks in a stack module which will enable industrial scaling of the technology.

Construction of the new 14000 m2 facility in Loovälja Industrial Park started at the beginning of January 2024, with operations scheduled to commence mid-2025. Developed together with Maru Ehitus AS, the facility will expand the Company’s manufacturing capacity from 10 MW to 360 MW.

Elcogen and Enefit Green have signed a long-term electricity sales agreement, under which a direct power connection line will be constructed between the Iru power plant and Elcogen’s manufacturing facility.
The capacity of the direct power line to be built is 10 megavolt amperes, comparable to the power consumption of some smaller communities in Estonia.
