Elcogen CEO Enn Õunpuu has presented the company’s leading solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) technology and its latest business activities during a recent European clean energy conference in Tallinn, Estonia.
The conference, which was part of the Estonia’s 2017 Presidency of the Council of the European Union, aimed to discuss local and regional policy recommendation on the European Commission’s proposals contained in the 2016 “Clean Energy for All European” package on the Energy Union.
Speakers at the conference included representatives from the European, national, regional, and local levels of governance, in conjunction with representatives from academia, NGOs, and other stakeholders looking to share the best practice.
Mr. Õunpuu gave a presentation about fuel cell technology and Elcogen’s activities in the field, before participants visited Tallinn’s Ulemiste City campus, where Elcogen is headquartered, to see the plans to grow the Smart City into the largest knowledge-based business environment in the Baltics.
Attendees learned about the potential for SOFC technology as part of distributed power and heat solutions as part of the drive for cleaner energy systems.
Co-organised by the European Committee of the Region’s ENVE Commission and the Estonian Presidency of the Council, best practice will be shared by Estonian cities and regions, thus providing a clear link between the CoR’s political work and evidence of local and regional best practice in the area of sustainable energy.
