Elcogen won the Innovator of The Year category on the Entrepreneurship Award 2020 of Estonia. The Entrepreneurship Award is the highest state recognition for entrepreneurs issued by the Enterprise Estonia and the Estonian Employers’ Confederation.
Peeter Raudsepp, Chairman of The Board of Enterprise Estonia said the Innovator of the Year category had more participants than any other category on the Award. “The winner has reached international customers with a world-class high-tech product based on science and is preparing for mass production. Elcogen has the potential to grow into a market-creating company. I hope with such words we will be able to characterize in the future the entire Estonian economy.”
Enn Õunpuu, founder and CEO of Elcogen said: “There is a story behind every award. I’d like to thank my friends and business partners who trusted my crazy idea 20 years ago. It would not be possible without scientists from KBFI, University of Tartu and institutes all over the world with whom we have worked and developed the technology. I’d like to thank our customers and of course our team here in Estonia and Finland. Thank you!”
The ceremony was held in PROTO invention factory in Tallinn Estonia.
